A Prayer of Gratitude
Thank you for the way you move in the world,
to make the world your own,
to shape and call creation to you,
Thank you for the way you carve out beautiful spaces,
birds and beetles,
waves that crash,
forests that surround our city.
Thank you for the way we see your face,
in the poorest of the poor,
on our neighbor's porch,
in the eyes of our kids at breakfast.
Thank you for the way you call us to live,
at our jobs,
in community with others,
in relationship with you.
Thank you for the way you make all things flourish,
even when we're not looking,
at times when we don't care,
and sometimes right before our very eyes.
You are a good God, and from your hand come good things.
