"Oh taste and see that the Lord is good!Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!" Psalm 34:8
We were sitting at the breakfast table eating waffles and berries. I read this passage to the whole family. We discussed what it's like to taste God. We know what it's like to taste what we are eating because we can us our taste buds to know how good waffles, syrup, and berries taste. Our taste bud for God is our heart; and our identity is what is satisfied.
We take refuge in God because he quenches our deepest thirst. We take refuge in God because he satisfies our hunger like nothing else can. We take refuge in God because it's his being that makes all things right.
Where do you hunger? What do you long for? How is God satisfying your identity, your deepest longing?
